The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein

This book took me awhile to get really into it. Halfway through the book I really thought about giving it up, but I persisted and ended up enjoying it and nearly cried at the end. It's narrated by a dog, who tells the story of his family. The dog loves racing and wishes to one day become a human. He shares the sorrows and happiness of him family. Really not too bad of a book. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

I totally cried at the end, but it was so worth it.

I just loved the second to last chapter, how he went. His owner would say "it's ok" then he would flash to a scene of the afterlife. And back and forth. Lots of imagery and emotion in that technique, kind of alternating the two's perspectives to quickly.
