Moving Target by Elizabeth Moon. 438 pages
Book two of "Vatta's War". The action steps up a notch as the Vatta trading empire comes under attack and Ky finds herself alone and in danger - and possibly the only person who can save her family business.
More proper space opera. Some of the characters are a little cliched, especially the bad guys, but it's still splendid stuff.
Book abandoned :- The Sea Change by Elizabeth Jane Howard (186 of 346 pages)
I like this author as a rule - The Beautiful Visit is a favourite of mine - but I just couldn't make myself care about any of the characters in this book, who all seemed to have terminal cases of Being Extremely Dull.
