25 Slaughterhouse Five by K Vonnegut

This exceptional novel is a story within a story, telling of the first hand experience of the American bombing of Dresden. The narrator is trying to write a book about his experience, thus introducing his character, Billy - a time traveling American soldier and future optometrist. Billy learns that the war is not a moral question, it is an existential one. "And so it goes," punctuates many events in this novel as Billy learns and tries to teach that evil on earth is bound to happen.

Very thought provoking and rich...
