Last night, while dozing over the computer as it did some deep cleaning for spybots, I finished reading Naomi Novik's new novel from the Temeraire series, Tongues of Serpents which is essentially set in the Australian Outback. I found it a better read than the last book, but not quite as good as the original three. This would be book six in the saga, set in the Napoleonic Era. For those not in the know, this series postulates that in this alternate reality, dragons exist and have a relationship with humans, and in military terms, they give aerial combat a possibility in this war-torn time, along with land and sea forces.
