I can't say that I cared for this oral history overall. Almost all the people quoted in this book sound exactly alike in their written voices so it might as well have just been written as a straight history instead of an oral one. The notable exception is Jim Dickinson, who I respect more and more every time I read about his career or see footage of him. The last 20 pages or so with the recommended Sun Records discography is also pretty good. And I did like that Marsh didn't focus on the Elvis years at Sun much at all since that has been covered extensively in other better books. 181 books. Grade: C
