A number of years ago, a friend (hendel) recommended a book that he'd just read written by James Morrow. The premise sounded interesting, but instead of trying that book, I started reading the author's works in publication order.

The book, which I finished this morning, is called Towing Jehovah. The premise is that God has died, and his body has to be towed from its resting place on the surface of the Atlantic to its interment in the Arctic. Action ensues. In the meantime, there's a lot of philosophical angst that's discussed.

It's a very different way to look at religion, and I found it thought-provoking. Might be worth checking out.
