Yesterday, I finished a library copy of Generation Kill: Devil Dogs, Iceman, Captain America and the New Face of American War by Evan Wright, who was a reporter imbedded with the First Marine Recon Battalion in the Iraqi Invasion. He's not the best writer I've ever read, but he does a fairly good job of reporting the events of the first month or so. Apparently, HBO made a mini-series based on this book, which I'll have to seek out.

I haven't read the book yet, but the miniseries was excellent. I watched it twice in three weeks.

Well, it IS on my Netflix queue; I just have a few other series that hold it back...

Haven't read much in that genre, but it's honest (and from the horse's mouth) and accurate enough. I'd recommend One Bullet Away by Nathaniel Fick to accompany that book, if only for a slightly different take.

The mini series is awesome. You can safely shove the rest and put it first on your netflix :D

Well, there's more than one of us in front of the TV; I'll have to finish what we've started here first. But I WILL get to it, no worries there!
