First was Freakangels 5, a graphic novel from Warren Ellis' web comic. Nicely packed, I like the artwork, and I'm curious about his direction with this tale.
Second, I got from the library. It had been suggested on my book-a-day calendar that I read book five of this series by Friedrich Glauser, a series of detective novels set in Switzerland pre-WWII, and rather than start in the middle, I chose to go and chase down the first novel of the series, Thumbprint, a murder tale. The setting was pretty engaging, and I did find the characterizations interesting, even given the issue of it being a translation, so I think I'll go after the second book. In this case, the library had to order this book from UC Irvine's library, but the next couple should be available here in San Bernardino County.
