Books #43-50

Fantasmagorical by Annmarie McKenne
Neverland Romance by Genie D
Blackberry Pie by Bonnie Dee
Vampires' Consort by Bonnie Dee
Her Arizona Cowboy Brothers by Sabrina Sinclair
Mr Darcy Takes a Wife by Linda Berdoll
Lover Unleashed by JR Ward
Married by Morning by Lisa Kleypas

I had become obsessed with finding cheap reads for my eReader and yeah, the first five listed are exactly that...and porn-y. Some were really good and others were terrible, completely God awful. Actually, only Sabrina Sinclair's was God awful (as I'm sure you guessed by the name alone). I thought it would hit a few kinks, but no. Terrible. But then we come to Linda Berdoll who has written the best ever continuation stories of P&P! Ever! It was the first book I bought for the Kobo but it's deliciously huge so it takes a while to read. I love the original characters as much as our main cast (which rarely happens in these types of sequel books), and Lizzy and Darcy are pitch perfect and--I really can't say enough good things about this book.

Lover Unleashed is the latest installment in my favourite vampire series and the first that's made me think about writing fanfiction in Ward's universe. She's just introduced a new group of characters late in the game, (the series is coming to the end of it's run, in fact I believe there is only one book left), which makes me wonder if she's hoping to have a spin-off series or (even better) continue on with the BlackDagger Brotherhood due to public support and sales. Speaking of, I bought it for three times less on the Kobo! Crazy!

Kleypas is a re-read but it's sweet and familiar and I like her.

I did have to give up on Fingersmiths by Sarah Waters. For now. Hopefully I'll pick it up in the library again some time in the future but I just couldn't bring myself to read more. It's the psychological cruelty behind the plotline that's throwing me off, which I don't get because I picked up some other war-centered novels during my latest trip to the library.

Anyway, this meets the challenge of 50 books, but as looking back at my list of reads is pretty damn enjoyable I'm going to up the ante to 200 for the rest of the year and see what happens.
