10. Heat Wave - Richard Castle Pages: 216
"Mystery sensation Richard Castle, blockbuster author of the wildly bestselling Derrick Storm novels, introduces his newest character, NYPD Homicide Detective Nikki Heat. Tough, sexy, professional, Nikki Heat carries a passion for justice as she leads one of New York City's top homicide squads. She's hit with an unexpected challenge when the commissioner assigns superstar magazine journalist Jameson Rook to ride along with her to research an article on New York's Finest. Pulitzer Prize-winning Rook is as much a handful as he is handsome. His wise-cracking and meddling aren't her only problems. As she works to unravel the secrets of a murdered real estate agent tycoon, she must also confront the spark between her and Rook. The one called heat."

I loved this book! An amazing tie-in to the series, I loved the writing style, the arrogance, the plot - it was like an actual Castle episode. The character references are easy to spot and the characters are also likeable. I loved the references to other cases from the series and little in-jokes only Castle fans would get (c.f. Castle's dedications ;) ). Definite recommendation to any Castle fans or anyone who is into crime fiction or wants an easy crime read.

And the steamy sex scene? Yup, it's steamy.....
