Over the last few days, I finished a couple of books:

First was an ebook called Osprey Fortress #75: The Forts of New France in Northeast America 1600 - 1763 which I found moderately interesting. These fortifications are for the most part outside my experience, and it's a good reminder that European colonization of North America wasn't just British.

Second is a book that I'd read as a recommendation from a TV personality. Anthony Bourdain of No Reservations and The Layover mentioned that this book was his favorite crime novel, while the movie based on it was also one of his favorites (if my memory serves me correctly), and I added it to my Amazon Wish List, and followed that by tracking it down. I've seen the film, which I found confusing, but the book isn't, and I think it makes its point very well about life as a criminal in Boston a few decades ago. It might be worth looking up.
