Books 1-5

Title: The Stupidest Angel
Author: Christopher Moore
Theme/Topics: Supernatural, Humor, Christmas

This is a reread, as it has become my annual holiday tradition. Every time I read it, I'm tickled and left smiling. Moore is truly a master of tongue-in-cheek humor.

Title: Dead Until Dark
Author: Charlaine Harris
Theme/Topics: Vampires, Supernatural, Adult Themes

I love vampires (not the sparkly kind) so it was only a matter of time until I came across this series. I'd love to watch the show, but I can't handle the bad LA accents. As a novel, it is entertaining, and a guilty pleasure, and I can't stop reading this series!

Title: Living Dead in Dallas
Author: Charlaine Harris
Theme/Topics: Vampires, Supernatural, Adult Themes

The second in the series was as good as the first. One thing I don't like as much is that Harris does a lot of recapping, which would be helpful if I wasn't read the books back to back. The writing style is simple, but the story is compelling.

Title: Club Dead
Author: Charlaine Harris
Theme/Topics: Vampires, Supernatural, Adult Themes

Again, don't care for the recapping, but I have to stop reading this for a while, or else I'll run out, and be devastated! What can I say: these novels are a bit of an addiction.

Title: The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag
Author: Alan Bradley
Theme/Topics: Mystery, Murder, Young Heroine

I fell in love with Flavia in the first book of his series: precocious, smart, witty, and a girl of science. What's not to love? This novel was as good as the first. In fact, I was sure that I had the whole story figured out, but I was dead wrong. If you like a good mystery, and want to cheer for an irreverent and cheeky heroine, this series is for you!
