My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Unfortunately, I didn’t really like this continuation of the Machiavellian plotting seen in number ten and one of the plot twists doesn’t sit well at all. However, things are starting to happen so it’s a little more exciting. It’s not that this was bad. It’s just not what I wanted to see happen and a lot does happen. Akira confronts Alphonso about his role in what is happening at the bund. Yuki confronts the imposter Mina and finally gets word to Akira in a daring, ingenious way (one of the best parts of the manga and a shining moment for her).
We learn more about the imposter Mina and things go very badly for Akira and his father. Akira is helped by a vampire named Akira as well and the Fangless who love him. As for our Mina, well we’re still in limbo there. So while not really what I want to see happening, it is a least exciting.
There is also a side story with Mina that was very sweet. It also had a teaser for www.zoomcomics.com which is the online portion of Seven Seas publishing. The teaser bit was ‘Vampire Cheerleader’ and was enough to make me want to see no more of it.
