I finally finished reading Crucible of Gold by Naomi Novik, the latest of the Temeraire books. If you haven't read them, they are a re-write of the Napoleonic Wars with the addition of aerial combat in which the armies have dragons as well as navies, armies, cannons, and so forth. In this one there's reconciliation, shipwreck, exploration of a continent, and repatriation of captives. I especially like the symbiosis between the dragons and their people. If you haven't read any of the series, I recommend you start at the beginning, rather than with this book, which, IIRC, was His Majesty's Dragon.
