Artemis Fowl and the Opal Deception. by Eoin Colfer. 343 pages.
Book 4 in this series and a decent enough read, but I felt it wasn't as good as the previous three in some ways - it felt rather like a transition book actually as many of the characters were in radically altered circumstances by the end of it.
Also, it seemed as if the author had written himself into a corner at the end of the last book and so much of this one was spent extracting himself therefrom.
But mostly it didn't seem as good because Artemis didn't have as much page time as usual demonstrating his criminal genius - usually the plots are all about that, but this one much less so.
I still plan on reading the next book in the series though, in the hope it will be a return to form.
