Third in the Rivers of London series and new out in hardback, so under a cut in case of spoilers.\
I enjoyed this book - I like the setting and the smartarse narrator, but I agree with one of my LJ friends who said that the plot is a bit feeble compared to the first two books and that much of the story felt like setup for later books. Which is fair enough providing it's also entertaining, but it would be better if it were a little less obvious. Jim Butcher is much better at that sort of thing - he works in bits which pop up a few books later to bite the hero on the backside, and it's much more effective for being unexpected. That said, I also agree with the same friend's comments that it's good to see the consequences of things being lasting - one of the characters is still not fully recovered from her horrific injuries in book one and magic isn't a viable way to fix it. Still looking forward to the next book, but hoping it'll have a stronger plot
