Book 43 for 2012

Gently Down The Stream by Alan Hunter. 248 pages
Detective novel featuring Inspector George Gently. I haven't seen the tv series with Martin Shaw based on these books, so I don't know how closely it follows the books, but this was a decent enough plot, set in the Norfolk Broads.
I thought the ending was a bit cliched, but then I spotted that the book was first published in 1957, so it probably wasn't back then :) I shall probably read some more of this series when I want something undemanding to read.
