A Bad Birdwatcher's Companion by Simon Barnes. 276 pages
An interesting, useful and sometimes very funny guide to "Britain's 50 most obvious birds". I shall be keeping this book for reference as it has a lot of good information on where to watch birds, how to identify them and what they sound like.
Coincidentally, I'd not long read the chapter about how Great Spotted Woodpeckers (a bird I'd never seen) are far more prevalent than people might think, when one turned up on the peanut feeder in my garden :)
