What with one thing or another, I managed to finish two books that I'd been reading, yesterday.

First was Cold Days by Jim Butcher, the latest novel of his Dresden Files series. It's now less about a PI who's a private detective in Chicago, and more about a near demi-god wizard fighting the creatures trying to invade from outside our Universe. That doesn't change the fact that it is readable and fun. I'd recommend the whole series; honestly, it's hard for the book to stand alone with all the back history that's glossed over. Start with Storm Front if you've never read any of these before.

The other book is Like a Lampshade in a Whorehouse: My Life in Comedy, ostensibly by Phyllis Diller, (with Richard Buskin); she talks about her personal history, and the ups and downs of her life. I have to wonder how many out there have been exposed to her humor? I never saw her onstage, just in TV or movies. Still, I thought she was pretty funny. If you find her work interesting, this book is worth reading.
