Book 68: Good News of Great Joy by John Piper

Number of pages: 64

This is a book of daily readings for the advent period, which I have been reading through this month. This has a different passage for each day, dealing with a different aspect of Jesus' character. I found it to be a good addition to my daily Bible reading every morning and a good reminder of the true meaning of Christmas and why Jesus came here.

I was particularly struck by the fifth passage, which talks about why Jesus was born in a stable and asks why this was part of God's plan, and it emphasises the whole idea that He wanted to humble Himself, and this is the whole reason for there being no room at the inn.

A good book for Christians, or anyone looking into what the Christmas message is all about.

Next book: Jane Eyre (Charlotte Brontë)
