Busy day, but I was close to finishing two books and did so:

First was The Fracture Zone by Simon Winchester, something of a travelogue of the Balkans, finishing in Turkey at the time of the breakup of Yugoslavia. He does a pretty solid job of discussing the history of a part of the world that is very complex.

Second was Osprey Command #1: Napoleon Bonaparte, a short but fairly effective biography of the famed general. If you're looking for detail, this might not be the book for you.
