There's a couple of books I've been reading slowly over months, both biographies, both of multi-volume sets, and both of which are dauntingly large reads. Last night I finished one.

This was Robert A. Heinlein: In Dialogue with his Century: Volume 2: 1948 – 1988 The Man Who Learned Better, which finishes the work. The first volume dealt with history that I didn't share personally, but this one covered much of my own life; I found myself thinking about my own connections with Heinlein through people, groups, or events who I knew, joined, or attended. It's a bittersweet work. If you've read and enjoyed Heinlein and want to know more about the man whose imagination produced these stories, then this is a tome to read. If you want to argue with Heinlein, this probably isn't the place for you.
