My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The first half of this volume suffers from Shonen 'never ending battle syndrome.' Mostly it is Eren against the armored Titan, along with his thoughts about the two traitors and Annie which help him fight better because Eren really isn't that great of a warrior. Hange, Mikasa, Armin, Krista, Connie and the others are all adding in their help (notably Hange/Armin with the brains and Mikasa with the excellent fighting skills). But things go sideways when the Colossal Titan rejoins the battle and he and the Armored one make a break for it, carrying away a defeated Eren and injured Ymir.
In the second half, Erwin and Levi get word of what's happening and make plans to help. Mikasa, who had been injured (in fact most of them had been injured in the attack, Hange seriously) comes to to learn Eren has been gone for five hours and she almost comes undone.
And Eren and Ymir start to try to get information from Bertholt and Reiner only to realize one of them may no longer be sane. Eren can't tell who is and isn't an enemy any more. And his and Ymir's loyalties are under assault.
The series is going in weird directions that's for sure.
