My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I admit it. I tried in the 20th century to get into Dr. Who because all my friends loved it and I just didn't get it. Now in the 21st century I love all the recent Doctors so I picked this book up. It made me want to go to Netflix and see what I could find of the earlier Doctors (I know that many are missing and I'm still not feeling the love for the earliest Doctors).
Still, this is a little treasure trove of factoids. Maybe an old-time Dr. Who fan would know most of this but I didn't. It shed light on the struggles of getting this to TV in the 60s and plenty of behind the scenes stuff like pictures and scripts. It almost needs two readings. One to read the text and the other to look at all the pictures of things and their descriptions. It was an excellent celebration of the first 50 years.
