A couple of books finished in the last few days.

First isn't so much a book. Once again, I had found a list of Harry Turtledove's short works that were available for download or purchase, and so I got the lot and have been slowing reading them and clearing them off my Nook. Anyway, this first item was The House That George Built, in which Babe Ruth never made it big in baseball, and so the Yankees never had the chance to be the team we know today. Not a bad alternate history tale, though I'm not that much of a baseball fan.

The other book was Osprey Vanguard #1: British 7th Armoured Division 1940 - 45. This is a really old Osprey; it has the plates that they all do, more or less, but the quality of the artist that they have in later books just wasn't there. The unit history is good, the photos are fairly standard...I've seen them before in other books that I've read over the years. Not a bad resource for information about the Desert War and the British side of the collapse of the Reich after D-Day, just not as good a visual resource as these books usually are.
