Jim Butcher's Dresden Files: War Cry #1Jim Butcher's Dresden Files: War Cry #1 by Jim Butcher

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It's been a long time since I've seen really good art in a graphic novel but the strongest point of this one is the very strong and lovely art (if you ignore the big boobs and the short skirts slit up to there). I love the Dresden Files and this is set back in the days I liked best when the Red Court was still around and Harry was more human (and Thomas had a bigger presence).

Harry and three young Wardens, including a weather witch and Ramirez (who looks as sexy as he's supposed to be in the books) THey're out to rescue a group on Venitori scholars from a house that's under threat by the Red Court Vampires.

Quickly Harry realizes not everything is as it seems. The scholars aren't about to leave and he has no idea what they're willing to die to protect. Not only has the Council held back information it looks like someone has betrayed them all. So it's four mages against a hoard of vampires and something worse. Luckily Harry has an unexpected ally arrive at the final moments.

It's a bit short but I enjoyed it. I didn't realize it was part of a series so I'll have to look for more.
