Summary: Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard, is about to have a very bad day. Because as Winter Knight to the Queen of Air and Darkness, Harry never knows what the scheming Mab might want him to do. Usually, it’s something awful.
Mab has traded Harry’s skills to pay off a debt. And now he must help a group of villains led by Harry’s most despised enemy, Nicodemus Archleone, to break into a high-security vault so that they can then access a vault in the Nevernever.
Problem is, the vault belongs to Hades, Lord of the freaking Underworld. And Dresden is dead certain that Nicodemus has no intention of allowing any of his crew to survive the experience. Dresden’s always been tricky, but he’s going to have to up his backstabbing game to survive this mess ...
My thoughts:
Wow. Some of the things happening in this book? Wow.
The plot itself has been pretty engaging and I love the heist aspect of it (as always, my mind jumped to "White Collar" and what Neal would do. XD).
The showdown at Michaels'? Awesome but poor Karrin. *hugs her*
I had to laugh so much (imagine me the same way as Karrin) when Harry realized what his 'parasite' is. Only you, Harry. Only you. XD I also think that it's very adorable and I'm very curious how this will impact everything from now on.
Mab and Marcone working together? *meep* That will be interesting for the future.
Harry pakouring? Best. Thing. Ever.
Harry seeing Maggie for the first time again? OMG. My heart. And then realising he wants to be her Dad and being present and everything? ♥
I'm a bit sad that we basically didn't get to see Molly in this part and that Thomas has been once again non existant except for some tiny mentions. :(
At the same time, I'm pretty happy that we got to see Michael again and see Michael again in action. \o/
I really liked this part and now I have to wait with everyone else for the next (and even longer because I'm waiting for the paperback). /o\
