Dead Dog Cat

Another library book bites the dust!

Yesterday, I finished reading A Voyage Long and Strange: Rediscovering the New World by Tony Horwitz. This was a book about the exploration and exploitation of the Western Hemisphere. Horwitz admits early on that he recognized that in his own mind, he lost the period from 1492 (Columbus) until 1620 (Pilgrims) in history, and so he writes about the expeditions during that period in the United States. It's nicely written, jumping from narratives of the era covered to Horwitz's interactions with people in the present who have some connection to his studies. I'd heartily recommend this book!
