Geek Girls Unite: How Fangirls, Bookworms, Indie Chicks, and Other Misfits Are Taking Over The World by Leslie Simon - This book is a guide for and about every variation of female geek, from the fandom geek to the fashionista to the DIY-er. It also includes suggestions for books, websites, movies, even music to check out to feed your inner geek. :)

The New New Rules: A Funny Look at How Everybody but Me Has Their Head Up Their Ass by Bill Maher - Normally I'm not inclined to pick up one of his books, but I figured I'd give it a shot and it's pretty funny (aside from one distasteful joke so far I found about Sarah Palin's son with Down Syndrome - there's no cause for that whatsoever). It's an A-Z listing of some of his "New Rules" jokes, some used on his show Real Time, others mentioned for the first time in this volume.

While I sat in the running car, I read another ebook, this one Osprey Campaign #85: Peking 1900: The Boxer Rebellion which was mildly interesting. And there it is...

Book #23: 50 Book Challenge 2012

Nancy Drew #31:  The Ringmaster's Secret - Carolyn Keene

I liked this one!  Versatile Nancy fills in for a circus stunt, and tries to find a former circus performer who's gone missing.  The daughter suspects her mother is still alive and enlists Nancy's help.  Poor Ned still isn't making any progress at winning Nancy's affections.

I love Nancy, but taking a break for awhile to get some more stimulating reading done.

Book #24: 50 Book Challenge 2012

Something Blue - Ann Hood

I did not enjoy this as much as The Knitting Circle or one of my favorite books, Somewhere Off The Coast of Maine.

It's about three young women.  Lucy is friends with Julia.  Lucy used to be friends with Katherine.  Julia doesn't like Katherine, Lucy doesn't have anything in common with Katherine anymore, and Katherine pushes her way back into Lucy's life and tries to befriend Julia as well, almost desperately.  They form an awkward relationship with each other and the book follows them through some rough patches in their relationships with men.

I didn't get attached to any of the characters but it was on okay way to pass some time.
